Barcelona Zoo

0

The Zoo is home to many species of animals: mammals, reptiles and amphibians of all shapes and sizes, all living in as close a reproduction of their natural habitat as the enclosures can allow. As an institution, it works closely with the research and protection of endangered species, and provides an incubator for selected animals to breed and thrive.

Some of the its most interesting spaces allow the public to come face to face with creatures they otherwise would never encounter. These special enclosures include a home for Komodo dragons from Asia-Pacific, and a herd of Muntjac deer. Dolphins and sealions have a dedicated pool, and the Gorilla Enclosure holds our closest biological relatives.

Children will love the Farm area, a petting zoo with goats, sheep and horses. The Zoo’s location inthe Ciutadella Park makes this a perfect destination for a whole day out, asyou can enjoy its natural surroundings and relax with a picnic in the park after seeing all the animals.
