Swan Lake is a timelessly romantic story of the love between Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette, and the power of love to combat evil soars irrevocably.

As a result of a spell cast by the sorcerer Rothbart, Odette is a swan during the day and only recovers human form on the lakeshore at night. But their love helps them fight the sorcerer until finally their sacrifice breaks the spell.

This magical ballet was premiered in 1877 at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre, and has since been performed by the most prestigious companies in the world. Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu is proud to welcome this highly acclaimed interpretation, choreographed  for this English National Ballet production by Derek Deane.
