It’s the first music festival to kick off the season, and one of the most important urban music festivals in the world. Just one glance at the line-up confirms that its promoters are clearly passionate about music. Big name headliners top the bill, but where Primavera Sound has really managed to stand out is by consistently bringing together talented up-and-coming bands and artists who remain outside the mainstream.

The main festival takes place at the Fòrum. Large stages are spread across this open space, with the Mediterranean Sea as a stunning backdrop. Thursday night headliners are American rock duo The Black Keys, Antony and the Johnsons, Spiritualized, and techno’s Richie Hawtin.
On Friday you can rock out to indie rock with Ride and Alt-J, punk rock legend Patti Smith, indie-pop with Belle & Sebastian, and Damien Rice. On Saturday’s big names are The Strokes, Interpol, Underworld and Tori Amos. With over 100 bands and DJs on the bill, this is just a small taste of what looks set to be a huge experience! Day tickets cost 80€, and full accreditation is 195€.
