One of the most important urban music festivals in the world, Primavera Sound’s 15^th occurrence is sure to be one to remember. Just one glance at the line-up confirms that its promoters are clearly passionate about music. Big name headliners top the bill, but where Primavera Sound has really managed to stand out is by consistently bringing together talented up-and-coming bands and artists who remain outside the mainstream.

Primavera Sound Festival

The main festival takes place at Parc del Fòrum. Large stages are spread across this open space, with the Mediterranean Sea as a stunning backdrop.  Don’t let the beautiful view fool you, however; fans aren’t just here for the scenery.  Primavera Sound is notorious for having fantastic acts come to grace the music lovers of Barcelona, and this year they didn’t disappoint.  Thursday night headliners include Tame Impala, LCD Soundsystem, Explosions in the Sky, Air, and more.  On Friday you can rock out to Animal Collective, Beach House, Dinosaur Jr., and Radiohead. Saturday’s big names are Icelandic sensation Sigur Rós, Brian Wilson, Action Bronson, Deer Hunter, and Richard Hawley. With over 100 bands and DJs on the bill, this is just a small taste of what looks set to be a huge experience! Day tickets cost 80€, and full festival tickets cost 190€.

PrimaveraPro

Running parallel to Primavera Sound is PrimaveraPro, which is an international meeting of professionals in the music industry aiming to discuss independent music.  The program of PrimaveraPro includes talks, conferences, workshops, showcases, and more for musical professionals as well as anyone interested to see and take part in.  This event takes place during the day at the DayPro Conference and NightPro area at the Parc del Fòrum site, and requires a PrimaveraPro special ticket that you can purchase here.
