Shen Yun 2017-InsidePeach-web

The Chinese classical dance company Shen Yun Performing Arts returns to Barcelona for the fourth year running, and will once again present a brand new show at the famous Gran Teatre del Liceu on the 15th and 16th of April, coinciding with the Easter Weekend. Shen Yun 2017 will showcase new legends, new choreographies, new costumes and new digital background projections, as well as new unique musical pieces performed live by the only orchestra in the world that fuses Western and Oriental instruments. Do not miss this opportunity to inmerse yourself in the "Land of the Divine" and let yourself be guided by Shen Yun, a global company that is leading the renaissance of traditional Chinese culture through dance.

In ancient times, China was known as "the Divine Land" and the Chinese believed that their culture was a gift from the Divine. They lived in harmony with the universe and saw a connection between all things. True Chinese culture cultivated these principles for thousands of years, until it sadly disappeared. Shen Yun Performing Arts brings back this lost civilization, combining classical Chinese dance with innovative technology, authentic traditional costumes and spectacular animated digital backgrounds, thus creating a unique visual and emotional experience.

The orchestra of Shen Yun Performing Arts then completes this experience thanks to its music capable of capturing the mystery of the celestial realms. The orchestra's unique approach is in mixing the beauty and expressiveness of oriental instruments with the grandeur of a western orchestra. The result is a superb and vivid sound that expresses a wide range of emotions. A sound capable of resurrecting the soul of an ancient civilization to perfection, whilst elevating the art of storytelling through music and dance to another level. In ancient times, the Chinese believed that when the music is pure, it contains pure energy and it can harmonize our body, mind and soul. The music of Shen Yun keeps this tradition alive.
True art is a universal language that knows no borders, it can speak directly to one's heart and inspire and elevate us. In ancient China, artists believed that in order to create true art they had to not only master their technique but also cultivate their inner goodness and purity, as well as create works based on uplifting subject matters. And those are the principles that underly the art of Shen Yun Performing Arts. Their artists include introspection and meditation in their daily life, with an emphasis on moral character. Inspired by the virtues that permeated Chinese culture for thousands of years - such as loyalty, honesty, compassion - these artists present beauty, goodness and righteousness through Shen Yun's powerful theatrical experience. As a result, their performances express a genuine joy that can be felt well after the curtain falls.
Following their full-house success in Barcelona in previous years, Shen Yun returns to the Gran Teatre del Liceu with three unique performances on the 15th and 16th of April, Easter Weekend, and will then continue its European tour.

Show times:
15th April - 20h
16th April -16h and 21h
