The Palace was built between 1886 and 1890 by Eusebi Güell i Bacigalupi. He authorized the architect Antoni Gaudi i Cornet (1852-1926) to design the building. It is a National Monument and in 1985 it was declared part of the World Heritage by UNESCO.
Palau Güell
As you make your way through the main floor, the spaces open up through columns, doorways and arches. Have a good look around at the gallery which runs parallel to the street. The ceilings coffered in wood have different designs and shapes in each room. Take your time and get entchaned by Gaudi.
