Disseny Hub Barcelona

0

Disseny Hub Barcelona is a new cultural institute dedicated to promoting the knowledge and understanding of the world of design. The whole space and atmosphere of the museum aims to be more than just a museum and reflect the key concepts of this discipline. The gallery is made up of three museum’s holding permanent collections; however, you may find the temporary exhibitions more exciting as they are constantly fresh and offer plenty of innovative experiences.

Museo de Les Arts Decoratives includes a selection of pieces showing the evolution of decorative art from the Romanesque to Romanticism, and the birth of product design with the Industrial Revolution. It also traces a path through the development of product design and samples from the earliest industrial design in Spain.

The Museo Tèxtil y d´Indumentària collections consist of dresses, jewellery and accessories, as well as textiles that include fabrics from Coptic times all the way to the industrial age. There are also collections of lacework, embroidery and religious clothing.

Gabinet de les Arts Gràfiques aims to reinforce the idea of visual communications design. Important examples of popular engraving, illustrated books, binding and product packaging make up the Gabinet’s historical collections. Its contemporary design section has an impressive collection of posters.
