Barcelona certainly doesn't lack cinemas, and most shopping malls are equipped with cinemas. If you want to go to the movies while visiting Barcelona you have loads of options but be aware of that most of the movies in the city are doblado (dubbed) into Spanish or Catalan. Movies in Spain are generally not shown until 4 or 5pm and continue showing after midnight. If you want to watch an original version you have to choose a movie that is signed with V.O (version original).

www.cinesrenoir.com  at Eugeni d''Ors, 12, Les Corts, metro stop Les Corts or Maria Cristina, has a good range of original version films. For information about Renoir cinemas ring 93 490 55 10 or to purchase tickets in advance ring 902 88 89 02.

The Icaria-Yelmo Cineplex The Icaria-Yelmo Cineplex in the in the Olympic Village in Port Olimpic has 15 screens all showing original version movies with spanish subtitles. Nearest Metro is Ciutadella Vila Olimpica. The address is: Calle Salvador Espriú, 61- Centro Comercial El Centre de la Vila - Port. Olimpic. Tel: 93 221 75 85 or 93 221 72 56. Tickets are around €6 euros and can be also be bought at servicaixa website or ticket machines.

www.cinemes-verdi.com  on C/ Verdi, 43, metro Fontana in Gracia is a 5 screen cinema with original version films. Tel: 93 238 7990. Just round the corner is Verdi Park cinemas, C/ Torrijos, 49 Tel: 93 238 7990, a four screen cinema also with original version films.

Cinema Casablanca on Pg. de Gracia, 115 is a small 2 screen cinema that also has movies in original version. Call 93 218 43 45 for more information.

Filmoteca, Avda de Sarria 33, metro Hospital Clinic ( line 5, blue)
The Filmoteca has an excellent programme, showing three or four different films most foreign and usually in V.O. Every night 2, 40 Euro per film, There are stairs but a wheelchairs lift as well.

Malda, c/ Pi 5, metro Liceu (line 3, green)
This cinema shows two different movies for one price, usually in English V.O on a weekly rotation. Late night sessions on Friday and Saturday, matinees Saturday and Sunday, reduced price Wednesday.

Microcine Zelig. Metro: Placa Catalunya (line 1 or 3, red or green) Address: Ferlandina 51 – Raval (near MACBA) .
This is not really a cinema, because it is more like a small café with a screen and seats, where they show mostly classics or cult films. It always starts at 21.00 and it costs 3 Euro and this includes a drink. For more information check their website: www.void-bcn.com
