In recent years the amount of packaging and waste we create has increased exponentially so for this reason recycling your rubbish is very important in Barcelona. Barcelona promotes a selective sorting system so all of your rubbish is separated into glass, plastic and metal containers, paper and organic material and across Barcelona there are different coloured recycling bins to put it into. Barcelona’s rubbish collection system is very organised and the bins are emptied every night.

The streets in Barcelona are also rigorously cleaned every night, the roads and pavements and all other paved areas are all sprayed with water hoses in order to keep Barcelona’s streets looking clean.
