0

beerExcitedly promoting the fusion of craft beer and fine dining, NaparBCN Brew Pub Restaurant is bringing something new to the city. Up and running for just under 2 months, NaparBCN is introducing a new concept to the restaurant and pub scene in Barcelona, namely that of delicious and intricately made gourmet food, paired with hand-picked tasteful craft beer. This is a concept well known in the USA and in some northern European cities, but yet to be fully discovered and appreciated in Spain.

The making of beer is complex, involving several different processes, combining different styles, and different levels of maturing. The in-house brewery at the back of the brew pub makes all the NaparBCN beers, made by the two fine brewers with years of expertise in the industry. Made without preservatives, the brewers play around with the levels of hops and yeast, altering the bitterness with the level of hops – the plant which gives bitterness to beer. The aim is to provide the customer with the whole beer experience, allowing them to experience the beer journey as a whole, playing on all the senses. The beer made here is about not only the taste, but the feel and the smell. Aside from the beer brewed in-house, NaparBCN also serves the distinctive and delightful Napa bier, originating from their brewery in Pamplona, voted the best brewery in Spain. NaparBier is in your face, it’s happy; providing a fresh face to Spanish beer it has a slight rock’n’roll tinge, providing a mix of Spanish and English flavoursome beer delights.

manThe brew pub restaurant boasts a menu full of exquisite Spanish foods. Offering a fantastic range of seafood and meats cooked by their Michelin star chef, the pub creates this amazing fusion of land and sea. Catering to all parties, if you are coming in just for a drink then smaller tapas-sized plates are served for just drinking. However, if it is a proper meal you are after, then NaparBCN offers a daily menu at an extremely reasonable price of €19.50 for 3 courses, alongside beer, bread and water. Including all fresh foods, 4 choices for each course made out of all homemade and organic products, the daily menu leaves you spoilt for choice. If you are coming in for a more extensive meal, then be prepared to spend between €40 and €80 for a lengthy dinner of fine-dining.

The service is impeccable, and the staff are always prepared to advise the customers on what beer matches best with the food they order. The experience at NaparBCN is all about the wonderful fusion of food and beer, with customers advised on all the different combinations by the experts at hand. It is essential that the beer doesn’t take away any of the tastes  from the first-class food, so the staff are there to advise on the perfect mix. The chefs also cook with beer, taking a quirky spin on classics, for example muscles are served with Gueuze, instead of the traditional white wine, providing a new and exciting combination.
