Opened recently in December of 2010, The Tatami Room is a Sushi Bar / Grill, specialising in Sushi and Izakaya style tapas.
Half the menu consists of Yakitori (various grilled chicken skewers) and Kushiage ( various meats and vegetables on skewers, deep fried in Japanese Breadcrumbs), the other half is a mixture of sizzling hotplates, homemade Udon dishes, Sashimi, Sushi, Salads and various other Japanese style tapas plates.
As the name suggets, there is a large area in the downstairs restaurant dedicated to TATAMI style dining, an elevated platform where guests remove their shoes to sit on large cushions around low tables, and another area with traditional seating arrangments. Upstairs there is a Sushi Bar where the sushi chef´s can be seen at work.
Now we bring craft beers into the equation. We are pioneers in the cellaring and presentation of craft beers from all over and matching to Japanese tapas.
