Barcelona international communications are easy to work out. First of all in order to make and receive telephone call is in Spain here’s a few things you’ll need to know; the international adialling code for Spain is 0034, the code for Barcelona is 93 and mobile phone numbers always evabegin with 6. Oh, and just encase you’re trying to call the UK and it’s not working, the international dialling code is 0044 and then drop the first 0 from the number you’re calling!
The cheapest way to make an international call in Barcelona is to buy a phone card from a ‘Tabac’ or internet café. The cards vary in price depending on how long you want to make the call for and where in the world you want to call, there are different rates for different countries so makes sure you check how much it will be to make the call before you buy the card.
Public phone booths are also available, where you can pay for your call with coins or a phone card. Everyone seems to have a mobile phone in Barcelona now, and unless you’re just passing through you might want to get a Spanish pay as you go sim card, and be more connected.
Spain’s national postal service is Correos, get your stamps or ‘sellos’ for your postcards in a ‘Tabac’ or a post office. Post to the UK will generally take less than a week and for places outside Europe allow two weeks.
If you’re receiving post in Spain make sure you tell the sender to put the postcode on the letter. Postcodes are 6 digits long. A Spanish address should look like this:
