It is very easy to find cheap accommodation for backpackers, there are hundreds of hostels in Barcelona as well as bed and breakfast style backpackers residences. They often organise events such as pub crawls, tapas tours, or big nights out in Barcelona to keep you entertained. They can also provide you with lots of information about things to do in Barcelona and the rest of Spain, and much useful information about onward travel so that you can make the most of your trip and spend as little time organising your next destination as possible.

If you’re looking for even cheaper accommodation or are backpacking with a tent there are also lots of campsites in Catalunya, you can find more information about camping in our accommodation section. However, you won’t find any campsites in Barcelona and you will have to pay for transport into the city so it may not always work out cheaper in the end!
