The Fundació Antoni Tàpies was set up to facilitate and inspire the understanding of modern and contemporary art. There is a permanent collection consisting mostly of works mainly donatated by Tàpies and his wife Teresa. Among paintings, sculptures and drawings, books and engravings, the collection has examples of every aspect of Tàpies’ artistic output and of the different typologies, techniques and materials he uses. Temporary collections present exhibitions by his contemporaries, and there is a varied agenda of activities such as audio visual screenings and lively cultural debates.
