Eddie Izzard’s Force Majeure touches down in Barcelona

Eddie Izzard ’s record breaking world tour “Force Majeure” touches down in Barcelona for 11 nights, as part of the inimitable Barcelona Comedy Festival.

One of the biggest comics on the planet, Eddie Izzard has performed in the most prestigious international venues including sell-out shows at New York’s Madison Square Gardens and the Hollywood Bowl. He has taken shows to 28 countries and 49 of the 50 US states. He has even performed in French and German. Now it is time for him to take his chance here in Spain.

Force Majeure opens a window into the mind of this remarkable comic. Starting with his more basic Spanish and building up through interactions with the audience, the show will gradually transition out of English as his language skills improve. Having successfully performed this type of show with French and German audiences, it will be fun and exciting to see him do it again with Spanish.

Force Majeure is a French phrase that directly translates to “superior force”, “chance occurrence”, or “unavoidable accident”. This name should give away a little glimpse into how the show may go. It will be an adventure for both those who see the performance and Eddie Izzard himself.
