García Lorca: The poet’s inner world at Teatre Romea

Teatre Romea,

Garcia Lorca

On the 80th anniversary of the death of the poet, Pep Tosar approaches the inner world of Federico García Lorca in a surprising and formidable journey through the landscapes of Castile and Andalusia. This inspiring and stimulating production brings Lorca's poetry and life to the stage his works have so often filled. It provides a unique insight that will allow you to better understand the poet who sang to life and death with the same intensity, through works such as Mariana Pineda (1928), Blood Wedding (1933), Yerma (1934), and many more.

The montage runs through the most vital events in the poet's life and gives them their own soundtrack. Connections are also established between the biographical fragments and the works that Lorca wrote during those periods. The performance is in Spanish.

Sand, narration and music: a new way to see The Little Prince

29 April, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 11:45 am
Eixample Teatre,
Aragó 140
Barcelona ,

little prince

This new play for children in English, based on “The Little Prince“, in English is premiered on April 29th.

The peculiarity of the performance consists of the sand animation that will accompany the narration, creating an impressive visual effect and also being a tool so that all the spectators can follow the history, since the performance is in English. The narrator (Adam Cridland), the music (Marc Barrera Marin), the animation (Macarena Reydet) and, of course, the character of the Little Prince (Oceane Cronin) will create a magical atmosphere and take us on a journey with the Little Prince and A. de Sant-Exupéry. The script was written and adapted by Anna Chebotareva and Noelle Cronin.

The function is carried out by Studio 45º. It is a newly formed team of enthusiasts from different countries (Russia, England, Spain, Chile) whose goal is to perform non-traditional format plays for spectators of all ages and to show the classics from another angle, giving them a visual aesthetic focus and at the same time keeping their main ideas.
The group is very enthusiastic about art, theatre and spontaneous ideas. So one of these ideas was to create a children play based on “The Little Prince“.

According to organizers Anna Chebotareva and Anastasia Gayduk, the main idea is to create a kind of craft theatre, where the decorations are minimal and handmade, where the desert has real sand, where everything is true and sincere.

Thomas Dybdhal concert

Thomas Dybdahl made the final touches to his seventh solo album, "The Great Plains", in the Studio Propeller of Oslo. The album was released this past 24th of February through V2 / Bertus. This album comes four years after his latest work "What's Left It's Over" was at the top of the Norwegian sales charts and was nominated for a Grammy in the U.S.

For this occasion, Thomas has surrounded himself with several songwriters such as Ingrid Helene Håvik (Highasakite),Nina Nielsen, Øystein Greni, David Baerwald and David Poe; as well as 20011 Grammy Award winning producer Kåre Vestrheim, who has worked with a long list of artist; Among them, Hanne Hukkelberg, Jagga Jazzist or Moddi, just to name a few.

"In this album I was fortunate enough to write with some of my favorite artist and I can't wait to go on tour with these wonderful songs. Most songs on the album revolve around that moment of your life in which suddenly you look in the mirror and within yourself and you discover that you don't recognize the man that reflects back and looks at you. Songs about that realization you didn't know you had or thought of; songs about childhood, family and  songs about those moments which, with its passage and seen in perspective, you can clearly see their importance in everything that came later.” –Thomas Dybdahl
