Brazil Day Festival will celebrate its eighth year with good music, food and film on September 4, 2016.

Lenine, a two time Latin Grammy Award-winning songwriter, will be the festival’s headliner. The festival will feature more famous Brazilian music scene artists including Mariene de Castro, Veronica and Ferriani Chambinho do Accordion. The week before the festival, concerts are scheduled featuring Barcelona based Brazilian artists.

Brazilian and Latino cuisine will be served by 18 restaurants in attendance this year. There will be a dining area where guests can taste the flavors of Brazil.

La Escuela Unidos de Barcelona will be another attraction of the festival, with lots of samba and batucada, the traditional style of the celebrations of Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Ouro Strings group has also coordinated traditional capoeira.

The festival continues into the next week from September 8 to 11. Film screenings at Girona Cinemas will show 6 films that highlight the best of current Brazilian cinema. The work of Boi Neon Gabriel Macari will be showcased.
