 | Before Barceló, 1973-1982 presents a selection of original work unknown and Miquel Barceló (Felanitx, 1957), that was from 1973 until its consecration in the international context in from his participation in Documenta in Kassel in 1982.
The main objective of this exhibition is to introduce a set of over one hundred works, many unpublished, which features some of the most significant and enduring career of the artist. The exhibition was divided into six sections: Bestiary, Vanitas, experimental poetry, books, portraits and self portraits, and landscape elements.
The works belong to the personal collection of Barceló, various public and private institutions of Spain and France and private collections.
The production of the three centers respond to the significance of the three cities in the initial trajectory of the artist: Palma and Barcelona, with the respective cultural contexts, and Toulouse as a city where he made his first solo exhibition abroad. |
