 | Barcelona Acció Musical is an independent music festival that brings live music to Barcelona during the Mercè. Covering all music genres, be it rumba, hip-hop or electonica the event features both up and coming bands with several established acts. This year’s main acts are includes Belle and Sebastian and Goldfrapp. Local Barcelona bands include Maika Makovski, Nueva Vulcano and El Guincho, and international participants include the world music of Hindi Zahra, from Paris, and underground experimental hip-hop by the Anti-Pop Consortium from New York. Concerts are free, and take place in various parts of the city including Plaça dels Ángels, Plaça Joan Corominas, Plaza Real and the Parc del Fórum. Last year’s final night attracted almost 200,000 people and this year also looks set to be your chance to see the “next big thing”, as well as enjoying the best the city has to offer. |
